Stuck in a bad job

TEXT: Genesis 1:26;

Genesis 2:15;

Genesis 3:17-19;

Colossians 3:22-24;

Matthew 6:33;

QUESTIONS: 

1. What’s the best job you’ve ever had?  What’s the worst job?  What made it great or not so great?
2. Why do so many people hate their job?  How does Genesis 3:17-19 influence this problem?
3. Read Colossians 3:22-24.  Discuss the idea of God signing your paycheck and that HE is ultimately your boss.  Do you currently think that way?  Why or why not?
4. Pastor Troy said, “If you can find a better job, take it.”  Are there exceptions to this rule?  If so, name a few.
5. Read Colossians 4:1 in the “Message” version. As a owner or manager of people, how does seeing God as your boss change the way you treat your employees?  What is one tangible thing you can do this week to honor your employees?
6. Are you the same person at work that you are in small group?  Why or why not? Read Matthew 22:37. What changes do you need to make?
