TEXT: John 11:41-42; Matthew 26:38-39;Luke 22:31-32
QUESTIONS:
- Have you ever been frustrated with Prayer? Either because you didn’t get an answer or it wasn’t the answer you were looking for? How did you respond?
- How would you respond to the statement: “Prayer is just a waste of time”.
- Pastor Troy said, “Prayer matters because it mattered to Jesus.” What does that statement mean to you?
- Read John 11:41-42. Jesus had complete confidence that God heard his prayer. What would happen to your prayer life if you prayed with the same confidence?
- In Matthew 26:38-39 Jesus struggled with the Father in prayer. Have you ever struggled with God in prayer? How did you feel afterwards?
- Do you believe that Jesus had unanswered prayers? If so, explain.
- Read Luke 22:31-32. Why didn’t Jesus pray that Peter would have the strength to not fail at all?
- What part does human freedom play in God answering or not answering prayer? Does that bring any resolve to your frustration with unanswered prayer?
